This is course consists of five ocean dives and allows a diver to expand their knowledge and experiences beyond the Open Water level. You will learn new introductory diving techniques which will allow you to dive safely in a variety of diving conditions and enviornments. The Deep and Navigation dives are required and the remaining three may include:
- Deep (see what's it like to dive to 60 - 100 feet. Shallower for juniors under 15)
- Navigation (learn and apply various navigation patterns and techniques)
- Night (dive at night using various lights and see differnt nocturnal creatures)
- Wreck (visit and map an outside of a ship)
- Underwater Naturalist (identify local fish, invertebrates, and plants)
- Underwater Digital Photography (take pictures of fish, divers, and the underwater world)
- Diver Propulsion Vehicle - DPV (use a DPV to fly around underwater)
- Peak Performance Buoyancy (further develope and enhance your buoyancy skills)
- Search and Recovery (search the ocean for lost items and bring them to the surface using a lift bag)
- Fish ID (identify various local speices of fish)
- Dry Suit (never get wet or cold again and dive in a dry suit)
The five knowledge development sections can be completed online through
PADI eLearning or through homestudy by reading the manual and completing the required Knowledge Reviews. Our ocean dives are usually conducted at a local beach and Catalina or Anacapa Island.
Certified as PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent from another certification agency
